Back in 1973, Larry began his
company as Antiques Warehouse. His outgoing personality was perfect for traveling around
the country looking for just the perfect antique piece to sell. Orange County bubbled over
with an antique store on just about every street and business was good. True to Larry's
grand style, he soon evolved into purchasing and selling larger pieces, such as old
tobacco cabinets, store fixtures and saloon back bars. It wasn't long before he became
known as a supplier of fixtures, necessary to the hospitality industry.
While business was continuing to grow, architectural fixtures around the early 80's were
becoming harder to find. In keeping with demands of clients, Larry began modifying pieces
he had or could locate around the country. Jobs were requiring more and more lumber,
custom creation and detailing. Larry obtained his contractors license so he could install
his creations and expand into other areas of installation. It wasn't long before he was
doing custom millwork for the entire public areas of restaurants, hotels and casinos.
Larry is still fabricating
and selling antique saloon back
bars while making completely
new ones. He is so good at
what he does, only the client
knows whether the finished
product is old or new!
continued to grow and eventually evolved into Larry's presently known company of West
Coast Woodworks. West Coast Woodworks is now manufacturing products to fulfill the
concepts of architects and designers in all phases of interior millwork.
To explain, a millwork package for a typical hotel would include woodwork in all public
areas. This includes the registration desk, elevators (inside and out), telephone
stations, restaurant and bar areas, as well as gift shop cabinetry and millwork. Larry has
made scores of planter boxes for hotel lobbies. He has laid acres of molding and paneling!
Free standing beverage cabinets and maitre d' stands from West Coast Woodworks are in
restaurants, hotels and resorts all over the country!
